Suspects sought in connection to August car theft, shooting

Calgary police are looking for the public’s help in identifying suspects connected to a car theft and shooting in August.
On Aug. 2, around 1 a.m., a man who lives along Patterson Blvd. SW reported his vehicle, a turquoise Chevrolet Spark, had been stolen.
Police responded to the man’s house and reviewed CCTV footage and believe the suspects involved in the theft can be seen on video minutes before the car is stolen.

The male suspect is described as having a medium build and was wearing black or dark coloured runners, shorts, a baseball hat, a short-sleeve T-shirt and black or dark coloured gloves.
The female suspect is described as having a medium build and was wearing black or dark coloured runners, leggings, a baseball cap and a hooded sweater with the hood up over the cap.
Police believe there was also a third, unseen victim in the video who was parked in a dark-coloured SUV not far from where the theft took place.
Suspect vehicle in NE shooting
The Chevrolet Spark that was stolen in early August is also believed to be the same car that was seen at a shooting a few weeks later in Crescent Heights.
On Aug. 19, around 9 p.m., police were called to 11 Ave. NE after reports of multiple gunshots.
Upon arrival, one man was found who appeared to be suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police were able to identify two vehicles that were believed to be in the area at the time of the shooting. One of which was a turquoise Chevrolet Spark.
Through the investigation, police were given footage of the stolen car after it was abandoned in the community of Renfrew on Aug. 31. In CCTV footage, one person can be seen exiting the car.

Investigators now believe the suspects who stole the car from the southwest are the same people who were involved in the shooting in Crescent Heights.
Anyone with information about the car theft suspects, the unseen suspect vehicle, the person who exited the stolen Chevrolet Spark, or the Crescent Heights shooting incident, are being asked to contact police.
