Calgary Expo makes colourful return for April as it celebrates its 15th anniversary

Superheroes, anime, fan-fiction, comic book, and video games fanatics will reunite at the fan-favourite pop culture Calgary Expo 2022, a three-day event at the BMO Centre.

A popular parade, where people get dressed in all sorts of costumes, is also set to return in April.

The Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo has announced two more high-profile guests for this year’s event, including comedy legend John Cleese, who will make his first convention appearance in Canada.

William Shatner will also be attending as part of the Star Trek legend’s 90th birthday tour.

Calgary Expo will officially celebrate its 15th anniversary this year after the pandemic delayed plans and reduced the scale of the event in September of last year with the POW! Parade of Wonders also rolling through downtown again.

Other guests confirmed to attend this year include some of the cast of Trailer Park Boys; Elijah Wood, Dominic Monaghan, Sean Astin, and Billy Boyd from the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and Brent Spiner and John De Lancie from Star Trek: The Next Generation.
