Calgary police lay murder charges after man found dead in apartment

UPDATE: CPS says a 27-year-old suspect police were searching for has been arrested. This article has been updated to reflect this.

Calgary police have charged two people with murder in a man’s death earlier this week.

On Tuesday around 9:30 p.m., CPS says a man’s body was found in a suite at 6th Ave. and Second St. Police had deemed the death to be suspicious.

Second-degree murder charges have been laid against 29-year-old Dominic Hood and 27-year-old Jordan Curtis Vaughn Smith.

Hood was arrested late Wednesday night in the northeast of the city. Smith was taken into custody a day later.

Investigators believe the suspects involved knew the victim and the murder was the result of domestic violence. They have not shared the victim’s identity nor the relationship between the three
