New photos of suspect released after series of Calgary robberies, sexual assaults

Calgary police are releasing more photos of a suspect in connection with a series of robberies and sexual assaults that were reported in January.

To this point, six different incidents spanning from Jan. 10 to Jan. 30 have been reported to police. All events happened at different businesses in the communities of Montgomery, Chinook, and Ogden.

The suspect is described as a man between the ages of 30 and 50, just over six feet tall and weighing 240 pounds. He has reddish hair and a beard.

At the time of the offences, the suspect was wearing a lightweight black and grey winter jacket with black track pants, either running shoes or short black boots, and either a baseball cap or black toque.

“In each instance, a suspect entered a personal care business, demanded money and later sexually assaulted female employees at gunpoint,” said Det. Timothy Fitzgibbon with the Calgary Police Service.

Fitzgibbon said the suspect would pose as a potential customer and try to determine if the victim was alone before carrying out the crimes.

“In some instances, the man stayed in the business speaking with employees and revealing personal details. When interrupted by other staff or customers, the offender would flee the scene,” said Fitzgibbon.
