Alberta RCMP officer hit with reckless driving charge while on duty

An Alberta RCMP member has been charged for an on-duty incident on the Cold Lake First Nations last summer.
On Aug. 21, an officer investigating a complaint collided head-on with a vehicle on Range Road 430, near Highway 28, northeast of Edmonton.
Both the officer and the driver of the second vehicle were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A criminal collision team investigation resulted in Cst. Victoria Forbes being charged with dangerous operation causing bodily harm.
She has been with the RCMP for one year and, following the crash, will remain on administrative duties based on the charge.
Once the matter is resolved, her duty status will be reviewed. She is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
