Calgary assault downtown leaves one woman dead, one person in custody

One person is in custody following a suspicious death in downtown Calgary on Friday morning.
Police say around 6:40 a.m., they were called to an area along 10 Avenue, between 1 Street and 2 Street for reports of an assault.

Upon arrival, police found a woman in her 20s seriously injured and unconscious. Despite the efforts of first responders, she died a short time later.
Police now have roads in the area closed along 10 Avenue between 1 Street and 2 Street S.E., with the closure expected to remain in place for several hours while the investigation is completed.
Police are now out searching for a man that may have information in relation to the incident. He is described as having a slim build and was wearing a navy sweatshirt, black sweatpants, a black toque, white running shoes, and was wearing a black facial covering at the time.
