Calgary police charge man with murder after woman found stabbed to death

Calgary police have charged one man with murder in connection with a woman’s death earlier this week.
CPS says on Friday morning around 6:40 a.m., officers responded to reports of an assault and found a woman seriously injured and unconscious.
The woman, who was previously reported to be in her 20s, died a short time later despite the efforts of first responders on the scene.

Police have since charged a 26-year-old man with first-degree murder. He is to appear in court early next week.
Investigators say they don’t know how the accused and victim were related, if at all.
An autopsy is expected to be completed on Monday. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
Roads were closed around the crime scene after the incident. The area has since reopened.
