A night out making what two men called “funny videos” lead to an encounter with Red Deer RCMP on Wednesday night.
Someone called police to report the suspects after spotting one man with a weapon running after another man just before 6:30 p.m on March 30 in the Riverside Meadows neighbourhood.
When officers responded to the area they found the two men sitting beside each other. Police say they said they weren’t going to hurt anyone and they were just making funny videos.

However, things weren’t so funny to the police as the responding officer said people living in the neighbourhood were concerned.
Police say they seized the weapon the men had, at which point one man refused to comply with commands.
The threat of being tased by the officer led to one of the men complying and being placed under arrest.
Police eventually provided him with a warning and released him without laying any charges, and disposed of the weapon.
