Looking for some laughs? The 22nd annual FunnyFest comedy competition gets underway Thursday night and runs until April 30.
Festival organizer, Stu Hughes, says there are eight shows over the next 10 days, with the opener Thursday night at the Dog & Duck pub near Chinook Centre.
“There’s eight shows and it’s at four different hopping venues. Of course [for] pubs, barrooms and hotels there’s approximately eight competitors per show. Also, it’s bookended to make it even funnier with two headline comics,” Hughes says.

Hughes says “come for the laughs,” and at the same time help an embattled country.
“Every show is a fundraiser for the humanitarian aid. It’s all going to a local group that’s on the ground in Ukraine and they’re helping out immensely all over Ukraine. What’s also great is that $5 for every ticket is going to the Ukrainian fundraiser,” said Hughes.
