UPDATE: This article has been updated to reflect the fact the snowfall warning has ended.
The Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo’s annual Parade of Wonders was cancelled Friday morning after a snowfall warning was issued by Environment Canada, which has since been lifted.
Due to the large snowstorm in Calgary, and for the safety of everyone involved, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the POW! Parade of Wonders event this year.

The weather agency says a heavy band of snow developed, and the city could expect 10 to 15 centimetres, however, the snow seems to have let up.
The Calgary Expo parade was supposed to lead to the opening ceremonies of the event at Olympic Plaza, but it was called off “for the safety of everyone involved.”
