Calgary, Edmonton gas prices among lowest in Canada

If you’re worried about the price of gas, you can be glad you live in Alberta, as prices are sky-high just about everywhere else.

According to GasBuddy, the average price at the pumps for regular in Calgary is up nearly another 10 cents from last week to $1.63 per litre, though the national average is $1.90 per litre.

Edmonton’s average is sitting at just under $1.60 per litre, while in Vancouver, the average is a record-breaking $2.20 per litre.

Premier Jason Kenney previously said the temporary removal of the tax will stay in effect so long as the price of Western Texas Intermediate stays over $90 USD.

The United Conservative Party says the government will see about $100 million less in fuel tax revenue for each of the first three months and will revisit the plan in July.

Meanwhile, in Toronto, drivers are dealing with prices of $2 per litre or more, and analysts predict that could go up even more by Victoria Day.

In Montreal, prices crossed the $2-a-litre mark for regular over the weekend, with the average hovering around $2.03 Monday.
