Flames AHL team Stockton Heat relocating to Calgary next season

Ever wanted to watch Flames prospects, but haven’t wanted to travel out of town? Well, now you can.

Starting this fall there will be another professional hockey team to cheer for in Calgary, as the Flames farm team is relocating from Stockton.

 

Monday afternoon, the American Hockey League (AHL) approved the relocation of the Heat to Calgary for the start of the next season.

The Stockton Heat have been the Flames’ farm team since 2015 and are currently in the middle of a playoff run.

There’s no word right now on what arena the team will call home.

The Flames say more details will be released in the near future.
