Former Calgary Flames trainer Jim “Bearcat” Murray has died at the age of 89.

The Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation confirmed the news, saying Murray passed on Tuesday.

The Flames organization says Murray left an incredible mark on the team. He joined the Flames in 1980 as the head athletic trainer and worked with the team until he retired in 1996.

In 1989, Murray won a Stanley Cup with the Flames. He was later inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in the then-athletic trainer category in 2009.
