Calgary man arrested, charged in connection with Castleridge homicide

Calgary police say they’ve arrested a man in connection with the homicide of a woman in the northeast community of Castleridge.

Police say a woman was found dead in her home Friday. They determined her death was suspicious following an autopsy.

A 24-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody Saturday. He has been charged with first-degree murder.

On Friday around 7 a.m., police were called to a home along Castleridge Drive N.E. for reports of a person in medical distress. When officers arrived, 25-year-old Autumn Levi Cross Child was found dead within the home.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in court June 22.

This is the 15th homicide in Calgary this year.
