Body found in June along Bow River still unknown; Police ask for help identifying him

Calgary Police Services (CPS) is asking for people’s help in identifying a man’s body found in June, after traditional identification processes have failed.

CPS says they found the body of the man on June 12, on the east side of the Bow River, around 100 metres south of the Calf Robe Bridge, and their investigation shows the cause of the death is not criminal.

The police have released a sketch of the man’s face, hoping to be able to identify him, so they can notify his next of kin.

“We know that somewhere out there a family is looking for answers about their loved one and we hope the public will be able to help us bring those answers home,” says Const. Gord Fraser of the CPS Missing Persons Team.

Police say they believe the man was between the ages of 30 and 50-years-old at the time of his death, was bald, or had a shaved head, weighs around 245 pounds, 6’4″ tall, and has light skin tone. They also believe he might have been experiencing homelessness.
