Missing Calgary woman believed to be murdered

By Alejandro Melgar

A woman who has been missing for over five years is believed to have been the victim of homicide, Calgary police say.

Tammie Doreen Howard, commonly known as ‘Irish’, was last heard from on Christmas Eve in 2016. Her family reported her missing the following April and police began looking for her shortly after.

However, investigators have not been able to find her.

“Over the last five years, our investigators have followed up on many leads and we now believe Irish was murdered,” CPS said in a Thursday update.

The statement provided no details as to how that conclusion was made.

In an effort to figure out what exactly happened, investigators are looking to speak with anyone who may have information about light-coloured Jeep Wrangler, which is believed to be connected to her death.
