CTrain commuters are facing some disruptions Monday due to mechanical issues affecting Redline trains and multiple train stations.
Calgary Transit took to Twitter earlier in the morning to warn transit users about delays, asking them to take a shuttle bus if they’re going between Lions Park Station and Sunnyside Station.

Calgary Transit adds that CTrains are running from Tuscany Station to Lions Park Station, and Sunnyside Station to Somerset Bridlewood Station.
It explains in another tweet that the service outage is due to a closure at SAIT station for a mechanical issue. The exact problem is not clear.
#CTRiders #RedLine There is no CTrain service between Lions Park and Sunnyside stations as SAIT station is currently closed due to mechanical issue. The delays on Monday follow another issue on the CTrain Sunday evening. Few details have been provided by the transit authority, which referred to the troubles once again as a “mechanical issue.”
Some reports have suggested that the issue was caused by a power line that was down. Calgary Transit has not confirmed these reports, though images taken Monday morning show crews working to restore power to a section of the track.
Meanwhile, the Blueline also saw some delays to start the week due to an emergency on board a train.
“#BlueLine is running approximately 15 min behind schedule from Downtown Core to 69 St due to an earlier passenger emergency. We apologize for any inconvenience,” said Calgary Transit in a tweet.
