Camp goers can help by not lighting campfires outside designated fire pits or carelessly discarding cigarettes.
Other advice given to prevent wildfires includes parking your car in the designated vehicle areas only as parking on the side of the road can accidentally ignite a fire by brushing up against the dry grass.
More information about the Jasper fire rating is available on the Parks Canada website.
