Bear tranquilized after wandering around Airdrie

A bear that was wandering around the Sagewood community in Airdrie has been tranquilized and returned to a safe place by Alberta Fish and Wildlife.

RCMP say they got the call around 12 p.m., when they cordoned off the west-side of the neighborhood.

Residents were asked to stay indoors and to not go near the bear.

Fish and Wildlife were able to tranquilize the bear and have returned the animal to a safe place.

No injuries have been reported.
