Calgary police have a description of the driver of a large truck that crashed into a downtown Co-op grocery store on Thursday, injuring three people.
Officers say they were called to the Midtown Co-op at 11 Street SW and 11 Avenue SW just after 2:30 p.m.

Police say the driver stole the truck, crashed into the back of the building, and ran away. The front half of the truck was inside the grocery store, and the back half jutted onto the sidewalk.
Three men that were inside the store at the time of the crash were taken to hospital with minor injuries. Two were Co-op employees and one was a visitor.
Calgary Police Service Con. Chris Martin says officers on horseback were a block away when the call came in and started looking for the driver right away.

Carol Henke with Calgary Fire says the building was significantly damaged.
“We expect an engineer to come as well to assess the level of structural damage and how to best move the cube truck out without causing more damage,” Henke said.
The truck was pulled out of the building Thursday evening.
