First footage of HBO’s Calgary-filmed ‘The Last of Us’ revealed

The first footage from HBO’s hotly anticipated series The Last of Us has been revealed through a teaser trailer.
The series, based on the critically-acclaimed PlayStation videogame of the same name, was filmed in Calgary and the surrounding area over the summer.

Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) are playing the lead roles.
The newly revealed scenes feature Pascal’s character, Joel, and Ramsey’s character, Ellie, as well as Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) in a guest role as the character Bill.

Pascal has previously discussed his experience filming in Alberta on The Late Late Show with James Corden.
The Mandalorian star said he’s dined at Model Milk on 17 Avenue, as well as visited Banff and Lake Louise. He also mentioned that he went dog sledding, although he didn’t specify where.
The new series, which is the largest film or television production in Canadian history, will premiere in 2023.
