One hurt after Radisson Heights shooting

Police are investigating an incident of gun violence that took place Tuesday evening in the city's Southeast. Officers were also called to the neighborhood of Pineridge after reports of 'shots fired.'

Calgary police say one person is hurt after a shooting in the southeast community of Radisson Heights on Tuesday.

It happened at a strip mall near 28 Street SE and Radcliffe Drive SE around 6:30 p.m.

About a half an hour later, a person known to police showed up at a hospital with a gunshot wound in non-life threatening condition. Police believe that person was involved in the shooting.

Police believe it was a targeted attack but say it’s too early in the investigation to attribute it to gang violence. Officers found 25 bullet casings in the area.
