Looking for Lemon: Calgary woman needs help finding dog after car was stolen

A Calgary woman needs help finding her dog Lemon, after her car was stolen over the weekend with her pooch inside.

The car, a white 2022 GLI Volkswagen sedan, was stolen on Aug. 27 just before 8 p.m. at a Cranston 7-Eleven.

Huebner says she went with Lemon to grab a snack. When she was at the register, she looked out the window and saw her car no longer there.

“I second guessed myself and looked back over. Then I screamed to the 7-Eleven workers that my car was stolen, and immediately called 9-1-1,” Huebner said.

A witness told Huebner that a man went into the car and drove off in a hurry.

Police also told her they spotted the dog with a “pink leash” running around the area. She says that might be Lemon with her pink collar, and the seatbelt still on her.

The car was found in Ogden within an hour because it had an app linked to it. Huebner adds that her wallet, her house keys, and a garage door key were taken.

Lemon is a 14-month-old small black and brown Boston terrier/pug mix.

Huebner received an update and was told that people spotted her dog running around Deerfoot Trail going towards Tsuut’ina Trail on Tuesday.

Her boyfriend flew home from his trip to help Huebner find their dog.

“This is our best friend. She is our kid,” Huebner said in tears.

“We have been searching all day and all night.”

She says she’s received lots of messages on social media from people who have spotted Lemon, with Huebner and her boyfriend following up on the tip each time.

Along with posting all over social media, she has been contacting different veterinary clinics to see if the dog has been turned in.

If people have seen the dog, they can reach out to her through her social media.
