Deerfoot trail is closed between Peigan Trail and Glenmore Trail due to a fatal motorcycle crash Saturday morning just before the Calf Robe Bridge.
At around 9:30 a.m. EMS paramedics responded to a motor vehicle colision on southbound lanes at Deerfoot Trail.
“I don’t have details on the collision itself. However I can confirm that EMS paramedics did determine one individual at the scene that was involved [was] deceased, [and] there was no transport to [the] hopsital for that individual,” said Adam Loria, Public Education Officer with EMS.
“A second person an adult male was indeed transported to the Foothills Medical Centre. He was in stable condition and suffered non-life-threatening injuries,” said Loria.
To get around the road closure you can use the 17 Ave or Memorial or exit even earlier to avoid delays.
Calgary police were on Twitter adding road closures are anticipated to remain in effect for several hours and to avoid the area.
