Charges laid in Calgary shooting over stolen van

Calgary police laid charges against a second person connected to an alleged shooting over a stolen van in August.

Police say it happened Aug. 13 just after 1:30 a.m. when they were called to a home on the eastern outskirts of the city for reports of a stolen van.

Officers found a white 2006 Chevrolet Express van nearby about an hour afterwards, riddled with bullet holes.

Police were later called to a hospital after someone walked in with a gunshot wound.

Officers allege the person who was shot stole the van, and the owner of the van fired several shots in retaliation.

The 21-year-old will appear in court Sept. 23.

Kashirisha faces seven charges including several gun-related offences.
