Albertans invited to participate in outdoor ceremony to honour Queen Elizabeth II

The government of Alberta is inviting people to participate in an outdoor ceremony on Sep. 19 from 10 to 11 a.m. on the Alberta Legislature grounds to honour Queen Elizabeth II.
The government took to Twitter to send the invitation and says “Workplaces and schools are encouraged to also observe the moment of silence.”

The government’s website reads the ceremony will take place regardless of the weather.
People planning on attending the ceremony are asked to be prepared to hear loud noises and recommends using ear protection.
They are also encouraged to use public transportation as there will be no parking available, but there will be a drop-off zone for people with mobility issues off 107 Street at the east gate to the Alberta Legislature.
Meanwhile, people with pets, are asked to leave them at home.

Instead of bringing flowers, Albertans are encouraged to donate to a charity, such as the Canadian Red Cross Society or Canadian Cancer Society which are one of the many charities
