Two hurt after Kensington drive-by shooting over the weekend

Calgary Police continue to investigate a drive-by shooting in Kensington early Sunday morning.

Two people were hurt after a drive-by shooting in Calgary’s northwest neighbourhood of Kensington early Sunday morning.

Police say it happened just before 1:30 a.m. at the Monte Carlo Lounge and Bar.

Officers were called to the area for reports of shots fired “from a vehicle into a business.”

Police add a woman was taken to hospital with critical injuries, but she has since been upgraded to stable condition. The other victim, a man, had non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators are still trying to determine a motive, but “do not believe the two people who suffered injuries were targeted.”

Anyone with information about what may have happened is asked to call police at 403-266-1234. You can also leave a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
