Vancouver Amber Alert cancelled, boy found near Calgary

An Amber Alert issued for a three-year-old boy from Vancouver was cancelled after the child was found near Calgary Tuesday morning.

The alert was issued just after 11 p.m. PT Monday, after the boy was taken from BC Children’s Hospital with suggestions he was abducted by his mother.

Vancouver police say the boy and his mother were found by RCMP officers about 11 hours later outside Calgary city limits.

Investigators say the child was in treatment for an unspecified medical condition at the hospital when he was taken.

Officers add the child is “now receiving care” and that “the suspect has been arrested.”

The Amber Alert was cancelled just after 6 a.m. PT Tuesday.
