Former Calgary office space converted into affordable housing

The former Sierra Place office building that has been empty for years has been transformed into a fully renovated apartment meant for vulnerable Calgarians.

The new space in downtown Calgary, “Renamed Neoma,” – formerly known as Neoma – has officially opened to support Calgarians facing housing barriers.

Neoma will provide housing for low-income families, seniors, adults with disabilities, Indigenous peoples and newcomers.

Nearly $30 million was raised to renovate Neoma, resulting in 82 apartment units, family shelter supports and amenities.

The former office space, located at 706 – 7th Avenue SW, used to be cubicles for a petroleum company.
