One hurt after Barlow Trail crash in southeast Calgary

Barlow Trail was closed in both directions at 76 Avenue SE for hours Monday morning after a crash that sent one person to hospital.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection at around 6:45 a.m. for reports of a crash.

Calgary police tell CityNews a motorcycle and an SUV were involved in the collision.

The motorcyclist, a man in his late 20s, was taken to hospital in life threatening condition.

The driver of the SUV, a male teen, was not injured and stayed at the scene of the crash.

Drivers faced massive delays on Glenmore Trail travelling both east and west at Barlow Trail as police investigated.

It’s unclear what led to the crash, however, police say alcohol or speed are not being considered as factors.

Anyone who may have information or dashcam footage of the crash is asked to call police at 403-266-1234. You can also leave an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
