‘Pumpkin Patch’ Calgary art display pops up at CrossIron Mills
The Pumpkin-Finity experience opens at CrossIron Mills mall Tuesday, featuring Calgary artists celebrating Halloween.
Guests can walk through a Halloween and fall-themed “Pumpkin Patch” art installation, in celebration of International Artist Day on Oct. 25.
CrossIron Mills partnered with Promoting Artist – Redefining Kulture (PARK) for the experience.

Joel Tatlow, the marketing manager of CrossIron Mills, says the indoor installation is a “first for the city.”
“So the centrepiece of the installation is this wonderful indoor Pumpkin Hut, Calgary’s first and only, which is filled with whimsical, colourful pumpkins, which have all been hand painted by a local Calgarian artist,” Tatlow said.
“It’s such a visual impact to see this in the middle of a shopping centre, it’s just so special and so fun.”

Another local artist created an area called the “Monster Mash,” where kids and people of all ages can play. Tatlow says the installation helps bring art to life.
“People can come and interact with it, take pictures with it, touch it and feel it. It’s not like that art in a museum, but it’s interactive and people can see and feel it,” Tatlow said.

“People have been really excited to see something so unique inside of a shopping centre. It’s been great.”
Guests will be able to take home a piece of the exhibit when the installation closes on Oct 31.
