Alberta Parks says a portion of High Rockies Summer Trail and TransCanada Trail in the vicinity of Blackshale Bridge, along with Kent Bridge and South Lawson Peak Route, are closed due to the fire.
Black Prince Cirque Interpretive Trail, Black Prince Day Use, Peninsula Day Use, and Peninsula Trail have all closed as well.
There is no immediate threat to infrastructure in the area, and people are asked to avoid the area as crews and helicopters work.
The air is dry in the area, and Alberta Parks says the fire hazard for the Calgary region is “very high” along the foothills west of Calgary.
Rangers say they will reopen the park once the fire has been put out.
