Coco the dog stolen outside Calgary East Village Superstore

A dog named Coco was stolen from a grocery store near downtown Calgary Wednesday evening and police are looking for her.

A dog was stolen from the East Village Real Canadian Superstore near downtown Calgary Wednesday evening and police are looking for him.

Officers say Coco, a Bichon Frise-Havanese mix was stolen during a 50-minute interval from 8:55 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.

She was tied up outside the store when police say a man stole him.

The owner returned to find Coco missing, which led to them calling security.

Investigators say the owner called Calgary Transit, Bylaw Services, people in the area, and CPS.

Police say the suspect was wearing a black baseball hat with a white brim, a grey sweater, dark jacket and jeans, and a brown or dark red backpack.

Anyone with information about the location of Coco or the identity of the unknown person is asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or leave a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
