It’s officially the first big snowfall of the season in Calgary, with Environment Canada issuing a snowfall warning, saying the region can expect around 15 to 25 centimeters by Sunday morning.
The first significant snowfall of the season is expected over central and southern Alberta this evening. Be prepared for heavy, wet snow and reduced visibility. If you have to travel, check road conditions before heading out: https://t.co/DkjMSV28lK #abroads pic.twitter.com/BYINkvVZTR

The weather agency says heavy wet snow can compile on trees and weigh heavily on leaves and flowers resulting in broken branches and leading to potential power disruptions.
Snow Update: We have received several reports of fallen branches blocking pathways, sidewalks and roadways. Please contact 311 if you see fallen trees and we will prioritize these requests. Crews will be removing branches from well-used pathways and roadways first. #yycsnow

Environment Canada says the snowfall can disrupt traffic and recommends being mindful and taking occasional breaks to avoid strain due to the road conditions.
