Calgary police seize guns in drug bust

Two Calgary men have been charged in connection with a 19-week drug trafficking investigation.

It started when investigators received reports in July about people who were believed to have been involved in drug trafficking.

Throughout the course of the investigation, police searched a home in the northeast Skyview area. On Oct. 13, they seized multiple items, including two GSG-16 rifles, one a semi-automatic rifle and the other a drum magazine with a 110-round capacity.

Investigators also seized $10,000 in cash, drug packaging materials, cell phones, and three cars; an Infiniti G37, Infiniti G35, and a BMW 3 Series. Officers say that a 9mm Ruger handgun was found in one of the vehicles.

The drug investigation also saw 50 grams of cocaine and methamphetamine seized.

The two men, 21-year-old Teny Wang and 24-year-old Ruach Bang, face a combined 10 charges that include trafficking of a controlled substance and possession of the proceeds of crime.

Wang faces eight of those charges, which include possession of a firearm with no license, possession of a weapon obtained by crime, and three counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited.
