Power restored after outages hit 2,900 Airdrie customers

About 2,900 customers in Airdrie, Alta., north of Calgary, were without power for over an hour Thursday morning.

According to Fortis Alberta’s website, there were three unplanned outages in different parts of the city, which have since been restored.

The outages were reported to Fortis Alberta at 10 a.m. and power was back online around 11:30 a.m.

The power company says the outages were “due to a third-party underground line contact.”
