Two teens suffer serious injuries in crash west of Airdrie

A serious crash northwest of Calgary has sent two teens to hospital with serious injuries.
It happened on Big Hill Springs Road and Range Road 24 late Tuesday afternoon.
According to EMS, an 18-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries and a 16-year-old girl is in serious condition following the two-vehicle crash.
EMS says the 18-year-old was flown to hospital by STARS Air Ambulance while the 16-year-old was driven by ground ambulance.
They add, a man driving one of the vehicles was treated on scene and did not require a hospital trip.
No word yet on a cause.
Mounties reopened the highway around 10 p.m.
