Alberta is urging Albertans to shop at local businesses for gifts during the holidays.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation shared five ideas to help Albertans who have left their shopping to the final week before Christmas.
They say a visit to Alberta’s farmers’ and Christmas markets are the best place to pick up:
- Ornaments and festive decor
- Treats and snacks
- Stocking stuffers
- Farm fresh ingredients
- Spirits and crafts beer

Albertans can find a farmer’s market by downloading the Alberta Approved Farmers’ Market App to their mobile devices.
The government says there are more than 140 approved farmers’ markets across the province.
The markets are displayed along most of the province’s highways, showing the “Sunnygirl” logo.
