UCP MLA Tracy Allard appointed parliamentary secretary for civil liberties

Grand Prairie MLA Tracy Allard has been appointed parliamentary secretary for civil liberties in Alberta.
Premier Danielle Smith said on her weekend radio program that Allard was appointed on Dec 13. There has been no formal announcement.
The Alberta premier says Allard’s job will include protecting property and civil rights.

Allard made headlines in 2020 when she went to Hawaii over the holidays despite COVID-19 restrictions advising against non-essential travel.
She was the municipal affairs minister at the time, but later stepped down.
Then Premier Jason Kenny addressed the controversy, calling it poor judgment on Allard’s part.
