Dangerous Christmas Eve driver in Calgary charged

A man has been charged after he drove dangerously on Deerfoot Trail southeast on Christmas Eve that resulted in an alleged hit and run.

It happened sometime between 11:40 a.m. and 12:05 p.m. on Saturday after police received calls about a “vehicle driving dangerously,” along with a reported hit-and-run in the Calgary’s southeast.

Police say they attempted to stop the driver of the white Chevrolet Express van, but couldn’t because he continued “driving erratically” through the intersections of 109 Avenue SE and Fairmount Drive.
