Snow stops falling in Calgary, but city still warns of icy conditions ahead

As the snow stopped falling Sunday afternoon, the City of Calgary reminded people to drive safely and adjust to winter driving conditions.
The city says its crews are clearing the snow on Calgary’s busiest roads, such as Crowchild Trial and Memorial Drive, according to the city’s priority snow plan.
The snow has stopped falling as of 12:30 p and crews are now working down our priority list. Crews are also working on clearing pedestrian overpasses across the city over the next 24 hours.
People are reminded to clear the snow from their sidewalks.
The city also says as temperatures are expected to drop, causing icy roads Sunday afternoon, people should prepare before heading out.

“Leave plenty of time to get to where you need to go and adapt to the changing weather. Stay safe out there,” the city said in a statement. “No matter your mode of travel, prepare for the trip: plan your route, leave plenty of time for travel and ensure you are properly outfitted for the winter weather (bundle up, good footwear).”
Motorists, transit users, bikers, and pedestrians are encouraged to visit the city’s transit camera’s and online resources to prepare before heading out.
