Calgary man charged in RV business break and enter: Airdrie RCMP

Airdrie RCMP says a Calgary man has been charged in connection with a break and enter at an RV sales business in the Hamlet of Balzac.

Officers say they were called to the business on Tuesday at 5:34 a.m. for reports of a theft. When they arrived, they say they saw a white truck — believed to have been stolen in Calgary — leaving the area.

The RCMP says officers eventually found a man hiding underneath an RV when they searched the area. They also found reciprocating saw blades in his pockets and under the RV, police add.

The RV’s catalytic converter was also partially cut, according to RCMP.

Short is set to appear in Airdrie Provincial Court on Jan. 26.

Officers say he “was on a release order and wanted on warrant by the Calgary Police Service for an additional 46 charges” at the time of his arrest.
