The man initially suffered life-threatening injuries.

It’s believed the pedestrian was impaired when he was hit by the train just before 4:30 a.m. near the Franklin station.

The pedestrian has been identified as a 39-year-old Calgary man but no name has been released. Police add no other injuries were reported.

“Excessive speed was not considered a factor in this collision,” CPS explained.

The incident resulted in some delays on the CTrain.

The westbound lane of Memorial Drive NE near Franklin station was closed for several hours Thursday. It reopened around 10 a.m.
