Poll finds Canadians split on thinking convoy protest was a national threat

A new poll finds a slim majority of Canadians felt last year’s protest convoys were a threat to Canadian security.

However, more than half of Albertans disagreed.

Roughly 51 per cent of Canadians say the threshold was met to invoke the emergencies act.

But 55 per cent of Albertans say it didn’t – only Saskatchewan was higher at 58 per cent.

The convoy clogged downtown Ottawa for three weeks beginning in January.

A later protest would block the border crossing at Coutts.

Four men tied to that convoy were later charged with conspiracy to murder RCMP officers.
