Calgary Zoo celebrates ‘Dossi’ the gorilla’s 22nd birthday

The Calgary Zoo took to Twitter to celebrate “Dossi” the gorilla’s 22nd birthday Saturday.
“Happy 22nd birthday, ‘Dossi’!” the zoo tweeted.
Happy 22nd birthday, 'Dossi'! ???? Dossi has always been a socially strong member of the troop. Now in motherhood, we have seen her gentle nature as she nurtures her little one, 'Eyare'. The zoo says Dossi is very social and has always socialized with others.
Dossi has also showcased her motherhood nature by being a good mother to baby gorilla “Eyare.”
“We love watching their daily interactions & seeing their strong family bond grow,” the zoo tweeted.
Eyare has also inherited some social skills from its gorilla mother, and in November, the zoo shared a video, showing the baby socializing with other animals.

“It couldn’t have gone smoother,” the zoo tweeted. “Let’s hear it for the enrichment power of mixed-species habitats!” the zoo tweeted.
The zoo celebrated Eyare’s half-birthday, as it turned six months old in October 2022.
“She is becoming more independent each day,” the zoo said.
