Calgary police say a 20-year-old woman believed to be involved in a road-rage shooting incident turned herself in on Sunday.
Officers say on Nov. 11, 2022, around 5:30 p.m., they believe the woman was in a 2010 Chevrolet Impala when the car allegedly pulled in front of the victim’s car and forcefully pushed the brakes, as the victim was driving eastbound on McKnight Boulevard NE, and approaching the merge lanes for southbound Deerfoot Trail.
Police say one of the suspects inside the Impala then allegedly fired seven shots at the victim’s car when they tried to pass them on the left-hand side.
However, they say the victim did not get hurt and was able to call 911 and exit onto Deerfoot Trail.
The driver of the Impala, 24-year-old Jamal Baroudi, was charged with one count of discharge of a firearm with intent to endanger life and one count of assault with a weapon in November 2022.
After turning herself over to police, 20-year-old Karma Singh has been charged with one count of discharging a firearm with intent to endanger life and one count of assault with a weapon.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 28, while Singh will appear in court on Feb. 27.
