1 person dead in crash on Highway 2

Okotoks police say a 75-year-old man from High River is dead after a crash between a semi-truck and a pickup truck on Highway 2 southeast of Okotoks Thursday.
Police say he was the only person in the vehicle, and was declared dead at the scene.
Both lanes are now open.
It happened around 10:30 a.m. on the highway north of Highway 547, near Aldersyde.
EMS says no one has been transported to hospital.

Highway 2A, through Okotoks, was a nearby alternate route, as drivers expected delays for some time, according to EMS.
Meanwhile, STARS Ambulance was also called to the scene.

There is no word on the extent of the other injuries or how many vehicles are involved in the crash.
