The third annual Snow Rodeo took over WinSport Canada Olympic Park for a week in Calgary.

The event brought some of the best athletes from around the globe to compete in the International Ski Federation (FIS) Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup and the FIS Snowboard Halfpipe World Cup events from Feb. 6 -12.

Some riders have come from Japan, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Korea and the United States.

They came to Canada looking for FIS World Cup points in the final event before the 2023 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships in Bakuriani, Georgia.

On Sunday, Canadian snowboarder Darcy Sharpe took home the slopestyle World Cup gold medal.

Canadians won four of six medals Sunday as Sharpe’s teammate Cameron Spalding took third.

Meanwhile, Canadian snowboarder Elizabeth Hosking won silver in the World Cup halfpipe behind Japan’s Mitsuki Ono.

Four Canadian women reached the final for the halfpipe, but no Canadian men advanced.

Spectators were able to attend the event for free throughout the week.
