Calgary police have arrested a man they allege was involved in multiple armed casino robberies.
Officers say the first one happened in September 2022 at a Cash Casino on Blackfoot Trail SE.
Police say the same suspect allegedly robbed a Deerfoot Inn and Casino in January and, most recently, an ACE Casino in the Crescent area in the city’s northeast.
The latest happened on Feb. 15 at around 12 a.m., when police received calls about a man claiming he was “armed with a gun and demanding cash.”
Officers say he fled the area in a vehicle with an unknown amount of cash. No injuries were reported.
The HAWCS helicopter found the suspect in his vehicle parked outside Deerfoot City Mall, where he appeared to have changed his clothing before leaving the parking lot.
Investigators say they spotted the man driving towards the Huntington Hills area in the northeast, where he was stopped on the road on McKnight Boulevard and was arrested at 12:35 a.m.
