Calgary police say two people died in a suspected carbon monoxide leak in the city’s southeast Friday.
Fire crews say the source of the carbon monoxide appears to be from a car that was left running in a garage on 49 Avenue in the Valleyfield industrial park.
Emergency crews were called around 8:15 p.m. to the garage, where they found two “unresponsive” people.
The two victims were moved by emergency crews outside the garage to be treated.
Emergency crews were unable to revive them, according to police.
According to EMS, the victims are a man between the ages of 45 and 50 and a woman between the ages of 25 and 30.
Officers say a third woman was also assessed at the scene but did not require hospitalization.
Police say two dogs were also found dead.
